The Turkish don't speak English at all. Even if they know the language they don't speak English when they are sitting with natives of Turkey. They don't say January , February; they say Ocak, Subat etc. They don't ask you what your email id is; they ask you what your e-posta is? They don't appreciate it when people who can speak Turkish start speaking English.
We , Indians, can speak English. And there's nothing wrong with it. Nothing at all. But in the process we are forgetting if not our umpteen languages but the nuances of these languages. The proverbs, idioms, those stinging words for sarcasm and those starry words for romanctic poetry; we are losing them all gradually.

So true! Like Turkish people, Chinese, French, Spanish and many other cultures will stick to their languages as they do not feel their language is lesser than any other.
Reflecting on your blog, I too feel the same way - it is good to know multiple languages, but if you call some language as your mother-tongue or first language, your command on that language should be better than all. It is perfectly okay to converse in English or any other language, but if you are speaking one language, respect it by not contaminating by borrowing words from others... I feel that many languages are already dead, or on verge of extinction because of that...
